Dieser Film wurde an einem Sonntagvormittag im Januar 2016 im Atelier des Künstlers aufgenommen, als das Licht so warm wie in seinen Gemälden war. Immer wieder malt der Künstler Details aus dem eigenen Zuhause, einem charakteristischen Teheraner Stadthaus, um die zerrinnende Zeit einzufangen. Die auf die Leinwand gebannten Zimmer und ihre Gegenstände sind in die Jahre gekommen und wurden, wie es scheint, nie bewegt. Es sind verzauberte Zufluchtsorte, in die das Abendlicht durch die Gardinen fällt und über die Wände streift. Neben dem Gemälden, der Künstler für unser Auge auf seine Staffelei hebt, sehen wir auch die wirklichen Zimmer, erahnen die glücklichen Momente und gezählten Tage. Nie waren aber waren sie schön wie jetzt.

Painting a House

Treibsand recorded this film in the artist's studio on a Sunday morning in January 2016. The light was soft like that seen in the artist's paintings. Time and time again, the artist takes his motifs from his own home to tell a story about time with the rooms and elements of a characteristic Tehran mansion. The objects in his paintings seem to be aging and have apparently never been moved. In these dream-like spaces, the evening sunlight shines softly through the curtains, glides above the walls and breathes peaceful harmony and kindness. The film juxtaposes images of the artist lifting paintings onto his easel for us to observe with the real spaces in his mansion. Comparing, we speculate about happy moments, on borrowed time. The latter are the most beautiful.
